Full-stack JS developer (founding engineer)

We are based out of Paris! We are building the next-generation B2B infrastructure for the millions of small & medium businesses (SMEs) across the world with the mission of accelerating decarbonization and unf*** the world.

We have successfully raised a pre-seed funding round with some of the most respected investors, industry experts, and serial entrepreneurs. We have done the early heavy lifting to gather the most crucial resources for us to embark on and kick off this exciting journey together.
We have created this engineering position for exceptional folks who want to work on the first version of the product and lay the technical foundations of our company.

Founders Experience

The cofounders are 2 experienced veterans from the startup and venture capital industry. They have served on the board of unicorns (total board served >$10B), and founded and worked in startups with worths ranging from$10sM to $100sM.

What is the job about

We have created this founding software engineering role, for competent aspiring engineers to work alongside the CTO, on a wide-ranging of software engineering topics.
The role is conceived with a key managerial position conversion in mind.
This position is a unique opportunity to get hands-on and contribute to the very early stage of product building while gaining a front-row seat and a bird’s-eye view of how early-stage startup works. It comes with the extra satisfaction of shaping the first version of the product that we aspire to have the potential of becoming a reference in the industry.

• You will play a key role in developing modules and features for a B2B software dedicated to serving business customers centered on the topics of climate and carbon.
• You will be responsible for designing the software and infrastructures from A to Z, across our entire stack
  • You’ll be particularly responsible for making climate decisions, such as identifying and centralizing the right emission factor data sources
• You will work on climate-related datasets, carbon computing models, and data-processing algorithms.
• You will also get a chance to build the user interface to bring value to the clients.
• You will help improve the way the team works by proposing new methods and by developing internal tools.
• Over time, you will have the opportunity to create prediction models to estimate emissions of products in selected categories based on existing data

Tech stack

Our tech stack currently consists of full-stack javascript (typescript: node/reactjs) and postgreSQL. All of our infrastructures are powered by GCP.
Our code is rigorously tested and reviewed.

You’re a fit if

• English quasi-fluent (B2+), spoken & written
• You want to work on climate-impacting projects
• Thrive in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment. Previous experience in a startup is a plus. B2B SaaS is the cherry on the cake 🍰
• Bachelor’s or Master’s
  • You are a graduate student in Computer Sciences at an engineering school or a university.
  • Personal projects and/or previous internships as a developer, software engineer, etc.
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills, and you are able to explain something complex with simple words.
• It’s a plus if you happen to be in Paris (or keen to relocate); otherwise we are committed to building a remote-first team, and we will just need to be sure to do the most stringent carbon removal after the regular in-person team gatherings 😇
