💼 DevOps Engineer - Matomo Analytics 💻
Introduction
We're seeking an experienced DevOps engineer to join our team and work on our cloud-hosted SaaS platform. As the creators of Matomo, the leading open-source web analytics solution, we're passionate about data privacy and giving people full control over their data. We have exciting challenges to solve, and we need your expertise!
Key Responsibilities
- 🛠️ Build, manage, and automate our SaaS web analytics platform on AWS.
- 🛡️ Ensure availability, performance, security, and scalability of the platform.
- ⚙️ Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, and alerting systems.
- 🤝 Support software development, product, and customer support teams to achieve business outcomes.
- 🦸♀️ Take ownership of technical issues and collaborate with the team to resolve advanced problems.
- 🌙 Respond to application and security incidents via a rotating On-Call schedule (two-thirds of the time, including nights and weekends).
Minimum Qualifications
- 💪 5+ years of commercial experience working with the AWS cloud.
- 📚 Proficient with modern IaC tooling (e.g., Terraform, Cloud Formation, Pulumi).
- 🐍 Proficient in at least one popular scripting language (e.g., Python, Typescript/Javascript).
- 🐳 Proficient in container technologies (e.g., Docker, Docker Compose, Kubernetes).
- 🐧 Proficient in Linux systems and shell scripting.
- 🔄 Proficient in declarative modern CI/CD patterns (e.g., GitHub Action, Bitbucket Pipeline, GitLab CI/CD).
- 💻 Proficient with modern software engineering workflows (e.g., Git, pull request, code review).
- 🌐 Understanding of network topologies and high availability principles.
- 📊 Understanding of monitoring concepts (e.g., metrics, dimensions, log analysis).
- 🔍 Strong analytical skills and a passion for understanding complex business logic.
- 🗣️ Great communication and collaboration skills.
- 👤 Ability to work independently.
- 📞 Willingness to provide on-call support.
Nice to Have
- 🐘 Working knowledge of PHP.
- 💾 MySQL server and SQL query optimization.
Location
- 🌐 100% Remote work position (Candidates must be willing to work a minimum of 4 hours overlapping with New Zealand per week).
