About the Job

• The DevTools team improves developer tools like the Scaleway Terraform provider, scaleway-cli, and more.
• Report to the Engineering Manager (Rémy Léone) and write code for real-life use cases, improve and test support in devtools for all Scaleway products, and enhance the overall developer experience.

Responsibilities

• Work on transversal engineering activities within product teams.
• Assign to different teams and improve developer tools support for those teams.
• Collaborate with product teams to determine how to improve the developer experience on Scaleway products.
• Contribute to upstream projects in the open-source community to improve Scaleway native support.
• Review internal and external collaborations in open-source projects.
• Gain a good overview of the transversal engineering stack provided by all product teams and internal services of Scaleway.

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to work with multiple teams.
• Experience as a system administrator and/or backend engineer.
• Knowledge of cloud providers and/or system administration.
• Very good command of English and French.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of a strongly typed language (Go, Java, C, C++, Rust).
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code (Terraform is a big plus).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (shell scripting and CI configuration).

Responsibilities

• Lead the development tools for many products and improve Scaleway developer experience.
• Build transversal knowledge for each of our cloud products.
• Support technical issues in open-source projects (roadmap definition, bug reports, feature requests).
• Identify issues in developer tools/products before clients do.
• Understand upstream projects in the cloud-native ecosystem and how Scaleway could improve integration with them.

Location

• Based in Paris, Lille, or Toulouse, France.
