💼 Wattpad - Senior Web Engineer

What you'll be doing:
- Collaborate with designers, product managers, and other engineers to bring web features from concept to production.
- Develop and maintain high-quality, scalable, and responsive front-end code.
- Implement and optimize for front-end performance, including load times, responsiveness, and accessibility.
- Work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, agile development environment.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest web development trends and technologies.
- Work across functional teams to ensure seamless integration of front-end and back-end systems.
What we are looking for:
- 5 years as a Web Engineer, with 2 years in a Senior capacity.
- Extensive experience with React and Node.js on large-scale applications and know how to navigate a complex code base.
- Experience working with SSR and how to leverage modern SSR concepts to enhance performance and optimize user experience.
- Experience with frontend performance optimization (e.g., lazy loading, code splitting, caching).
- Strong skills in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Passionate about writing clean, efficient code and also recognize the importance of collaboration and enjoy working with great teams to deliver the best results.
Nice to have:
- Experience migrating legacy code bases to modern tech stacks.
- Experience working with Remix.
