The Enterprise Technology Engineering Team (EnTec)

Who We're Looking For
As a Senior Software Engineer, you'll play a vital role in delivering a positive Linux experience to our Software Developers. Your expertise in software development and Linux environments will be instrumental in creating modern development environments tailored specifically for our team. With a focus on providing access to workstations running preferred distributions, both physical and virtual, you'll help make Linux a first-class experience within our corporation.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the development of Linux desktop virtualization platform for our Software Developers, ensuring seamless integration with their workflow.
- Respond to alerts, investigate, and resolve technical issues related to Linux environments, providing support to Software Developers to ensure uninterrupted workflow.
- Work with internal customers to collect feedback and rapidly iterate new features for end users.
- Architecture and development of infrastructure as code tooling.
- Develop deep analytics and monitoring of our infrastructure.
- Work with the security team and other team members on building a safe and modern infrastructure.
- Automate as much as possible to improve quality of service.
- Report to the Engineering Manager and be onsite 3 days per week per our hybrid work policy.
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience with the above responsibilities in an English-language environment.
- 4+ years experience in development (e.g. Rust, Go, C++, C, Ruby, and Python).
- Hands-on experience working with at least one of the following: AWS, GCP.
- Linux power user or SysAdmin experience.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git).
Nice to Haves
- Hands-on experience with Windows and Linux administration.
- Hands-on experience building CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure with integrated testing.
- Experience with Cloudformation or Terraform.
- 2+ years experience in development in Rust.
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies and containerization (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience supporting large-scale infrastructure environments.
Compensation
- For California: The base pay for this position ranges from 140,000−230,000 a year.
- Your base salary is one part of your total compensation. We offer a base salary, short term and long term incentives, and a comprehensive benefits package. The total compensation offered to an employee will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications, location, and level.
