Fullstack developer (PHP & JS)

Your technical environment will be :

• Our brand new tech stack, recently migrated to Symfony 5 (PHP 8) and Vue.js. We also use API platform, RabbitMQ and Symfony Panther
• Our data is stored in Redis and in a Mysql 8 database with several replicas
• We have a Big Data pipeline with a datalake and a query engine to feed our visualization tool (AWS QuickSight).
• We also use React Native for our mobile application.
• We work in an Agile environment, with all ceremonials and two weeks sprints.

Our CI / CD pipeline is built on Bitbucket and includes unit tests, integration tests and functional tests.

Our infrastructure is spread across multiple regions, mostly on AWS and we use a lot of their services : AWS lambda, SNS, SQS, Codedeploy, Global database.

The tech team is composed of :

• 1 CTO (Paris based)
• 1 VP of Engineering (Paris based)
• 1 Architect (Lisbon based)
• 1 Head of Devops (Paris based)
• Web full stack developers
• Mobile developers
• Data engineers

We’re growing fast, with our community of 2 million learners in 60 countries ! Over the years, Rise Up expanded its footprint in France and then in Europe: UK, Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, ... But there’s still a lot more we want to achieve.

We currently employ over 80 people, and our team has been doubling year over year.

Our France office is located in the center of Paris (Grands Boulevards). It is very comfy and spacious.

About You

You are based in France. You are an experienced fullstack software development engineer. You will report to Florian, our VP Of Engineering who will help you to develop in depth product knowledge. You will actively help design, implement, launch and scale major functionalities and user facing features. You will be integrated in a Squad with a Lead Developer and a Product Owner in charge of describing tasks and plan functional tests.

Required Skills & Experience :

• Successful experience with PHP development on a Production application : Laravel or Symfony.
• Successful experience with one modern Javascript Framework : Vue.js, React, Angular or Svelte.
• Strong knowledge of SQL (Writing and optimizing queries).
• Experience working in an agile environment, with a CI/CD pipeline in place.
• Able to solve problems in a simple, neat and organized way.
• Good spoken and written English.
