TEAM 👥
The Software Engineering Platform Team's mission is to simplify software development and increase developer agility by creating tools and processes that enable novel uses of vehicles without compromising safety.
Arene Professional Services is a sub-team of Software Engineering Platform and exists to transform jobs, train organizations, customize software products, develop a customer helpdesk function, and prepare others for software implementation.
You will report to the Head of Professional Services and the role is hybrid - 3 days in the office per week.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 🔎
We believe diversity drives the innovation and invention that are the lifeblood of our business solutions. Therefore, we welcome an array of diverse individuals to work as part of the vehicle application development team; accelerated through the use of the Arene platform and toolchain.
You will partner with Arene teams and external development teams from Toyota and other manufacturers, working across all products and features for the purpose of validating and demonstrating all components of the vehicle; from drive systems to infotainment, applications for instrumentation of key platform metrics, and applications to evangelize the merits of the Arene platform.
You will build applications for the purpose of understanding the Arene ecosystem, to better support Arene customers in solving their development problems.
RESPONSIBILITIES: 🛠️
- Development and testing of Arene applications that push the boundaries of the platform using the full Arene toolchain.
- Design, build, and manage a variety of software for simulation, testing, integration, and validation of the Arene platform.
- Define and follow best practices for Arene application development.
- Build strong partnerships with customer teams to design and implement Arene-based solutions for project-specific use cases.
- Use, evaluate, and give feedback on tools and platforms built by Arene teams.
- Train and work closely with customers to deliver next-generation vehicle applications for production vehicles.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 🎓
- At least 7 years of experience in software development.
- Experience in embedded software in robotics or automotive.
- Experience supporting customers in automotive, software, or related industries.
- Fluent to near-native level Japanese.
- Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English.
NICE TO HAVES: ✨
- Experience with safety-critical systems and coding guidelines (Autosar, MISRA).
- Experience with software integration, testing, and BDD.
- Experience working in an agile/scrum environment.
- Experience in working with Japanese automotive OEMs.
