About OVO Energy France

We launched OVO in the UK in 2009 focusing on great service, affordable pricing and access to more renewable energy. We are now the second largest electricity and gas retailer in the UK supplying energy from renewable sources to over 5 million households.

We launched in France in the summer of 2019, and now supply retail energy to tens of thousands of customers. We pride ourselves on providing a cheaper, greener, simpler alternative to incumbent suppliers, and as always our excellent customer service.

Through our connections to the OVO Group and Kaluza we are aiming to bring more innovation and a seamless digital experience to the French energy market.

About the role(s)

We are looking for multiple engineers to build out a local team based out of Paris, France to complement an existing product & engineering team in London, UK. The ideal candidate needs to be adaptable with an understanding of business and customer value.

As a team, we build & maintain everything from customer-facing frontend React applications to ETL pipelines and distributed systems for supporting operational processes.

• Lead Software Engineer (full-stack, 6+ years)
• Senior Software Engineer (full-stack, 4+ years)
• Software Engineer (front-end or back-end, 2+ years)

What you'll need

• Strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to share ideas effectively with your team as well as business stakeholders, in English and French.
• Working knowledge of best practices for agile engineering teams working with continuous deployment.
• A passion for developing products, with a focus on the end-user.

Senior candidates

• A degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Experience leading teams, projects or being recognised as the “go to” person in a technical area.
• Experience providing mentorship to junior co-workers.
• Willingness to take ownership of the delivery and results of your team's assigned work, ensuring they are set up for success.
