Your Mission
At BlaBlaCar, the Discover squad is responsible for creating a great first impression for users by designing and delivering new features to enhance landing pages. This includes gathering all available trips, enriching them with useful information, and rendering pages blazingly fast.

As a Senior Frontend Engineer in the Discover squad, you will:

Design and deliver new features to enhance landing pages
Tackle challenges related to SEO and web performance optimization
Contribute to our web app codebase (Typescript, React, Node.js, Turborepo, etc.)
Leverage technical leadership skills as the engineering point of contact on impactful projects
Drive technical discoveries, align cross-team technical architecture, and ensure smooth delivery until rollout

You will report to Charlotte, Engineering Manager, and work with a team of 2 frontend engineers, 3 backend engineers, and one product manager. You will also be part of the transversal SPA chapter, composed of 13 frontend web engineers dedicated to BlaBlaCar's web application.

Your Responsibilities

Lead technical discoveries to find the most relevant solutions considering business priorities
Launch new features while maintaining a high-quality codebase
Participate in design and code reviews
Interact with people with different roles and backgrounds, sharing technical expertise with technical, product, and business experts
Proactively participate in your team’s processes and product decisions

Your Qualifications

Excellent proficiency in Typescript, HTML5, CSS3
Hands-on experience with developer tools like Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and monitoring solutions (Datadog)
Hands-on experience with SEO and web performance optimization
Full working proficiency in English

Nice to have:

Past experience implementing a web Design System library
Past experience with cloud provider CDNs and Load Balancers
