The Arene Vehicle Platform Team builds the next-gen in-vehicle platform for apps from automated driving to in-cabin experiences.

Who We're Looking For 🔎

We seek a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with C programming expertise to advance our vehicle software platform. You'll need extensive experience in embedded systems and automotive software development. Here, you'll lead technical projects and collaborate with engineers passionate about high-quality software development.

This hybrid role requires your presence on-site three days a week, reporting to a team lead.

Responsibilities 🛠️

• Enhance system functionality and reliability using your C programming expertise
• Develop safe, maintainable, high-quality code for public use in millions of vehicles
• Create tools that automate error-prone tasks and ensure safety by construction
• Collaborate with partner teams for seamless integration and performance optimization
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to development process improvement

Minimum Qualifications 🎓

• 5+ years of experience using C for embedded platforms
• Experience with a scripting language (preferably Python)
• Experience developing automotive application software
• Understanding of common software performance issues and tradeoffs
• Mindset for ownership, growth, and a bias for progress
• Good sense of systems design

Nice to Haves ✨

• Familiarity with safety-critical or hard real-time applications
• Familiarity with design and analysis of fault-tolerant systems
• Security-conscious software design and implementation
• Familiarity with ISO 26262, SOTIF, or other Functional Safety Standards
• Hands-on experience developing AUTOSAR systems
• Bilingual English and Japanese language skills
