TEAM 👥

• Arene's goal: Open vehicle programming to everyone, simplifying software development and increasing deployment frequency.
• Arene Software Platform Team: Design and build the next-gen in-vehicle platform for automated driving and in-cabin experiences.

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 🔍

• Team Lead to inspire and direct a strong team of software developers in our global development effort.
• Team-oriented, thriving in challenging environments, and passionate about transforming automotive software creation.
• Report to the engineering manager of one of the AreneOS SDK sections and lead a sub-team of 5 members.
• Hybrid role - at least 3 days in the office per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES 🛠️

• Mentor, engage, and grow people.
• Handle administrative tasks and HR processes (goal setting, evaluation, corporate policies, etc.).
• Closely collaborate with the broader Arene leadership team to align technical and product activities and delivery milestones.
• Lead continuous improvement of the team.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance.
• Offer hands-on support when needed.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 🎓

• 3+ years leading a team in software engineering or automotive domain, with 8+ years of total working experience.
• Empathic leader who understands human strengths and weaknesses.
• People management combined with deep technical program management.
• Experience working in multicultural teams and openness to various cultures.
• Excellent technical abilities, quickly understanding complex technical situations involving people, processes, and products.
• Experience in C++, Rust, Go, or other systems programming languages.
• Experience using git or other version control systems.
• Strong English ability and people engagement skills.

NICE TO HAVES ✨

• Experience in a safety-critical domain (automotive, aerospace, robotics, etc.).
• Experience delivering automotive software.
• Experience with Linux and Nix.
• Experience with CI/CD workflows.
• Proficiency in Japanese.
