Who Are We Looking For? 🔎
We seek a Senior Research Scientist passionate about enabling a novel digital twin platform, a key catalyst for innovations in Woven City. While Woven City is a 'living laboratory,' inventors should ideally test their ideas in a virtual environment before real-world implementation. The platform will accelerate innovations by providing a city-scale simulation and testing environment for ideas, services, and products. It will simulate and digitally reproduce various city activities, such as residents' daily life, traffic dynamics, and energy consumption, requiring complex interactions between agents and the environment. We seek someone who loves the vision of the digital twin platform and conducts cutting-edge research that will drive unique features and capabilities of the platform.
Responsibilities 🛠️
- Conduct research on one or more of the following topics in the Digital Twin context:
- AI-based agent modeling
- AI-assisted logic generation
- Real scene digitization as input for simulation
- Data-Driven simulation and optimization
- Survey and evaluate state-of-the-art methods
- Have regular update sessions and discussions with team members and present achievements
- Produce reports and/or publishable research/patents
- Provide guidance to bring research into product
Minimum Qualifications 🎓
- PhD in Computer Science, machine learning, related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated ability to set the agenda for applied AI research and publish research
- Research experience in generative AI, video understanding, NLP, RL, Graphical models (e.g., GNN), or related areas (e.g., OR, optimization)
- Experience in software development with Python using ML framework (e.g., pytorch, keras, etc.)
- Proficiency in business-level English
Nice to Haves ✨
- Publication in well-recognized journal or conference venues (e.g., CVPR, ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, ICCV) or experience in industrial lab
- Experience with practical training considerations (e.g., scaling, failure modes, tuning)
- Familiarity with modern experimental management tools (e.g., MLFlow, Wandb)
- Knowledge or proficiency in digital twin technologies
- Familiarity with modern software engineering tooling (e.g., git, IDE) and best practices, preferably in a cloud environment (e.g., AWS)
