DevOps Engineer πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’»

The DevOps Engineer plays a crucial role in delivering technical solutions throughout a project's development life cycle, from design to post-launch support. This role involves coordinating, supporting, and working with multiple delocalized technical teams across various regions. Reporting to the Sr. Product Manager, the DevOps Engineer ensures that new product launches and existing deployments meet the needs of our internal and external clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance platform components by leveraging open-source software and driving the modernization of core Data Management and Delivery systems. πŸ› οΈ
  • Contribute to the Data Management and Delivery DevOps team by participating in solution design, development, and deployment. Mentor other platform team members to boost their technical and soft skills. 🀝
  • Utilize your knowledge of open-source, cloud (especially AWS), and DevOps technologies to build new platform products for use across Nielsen's product portfolio. 🌐
  • Design and implement low-latency networking products to optimize performance. 🏎️
  • Ensure the availability, performance, scalability, and security of production systems. πŸ›‘οΈ
  • Build automated tests, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms to assure quality and stability of various services. πŸ”
  • Troubleshoot and solve system issues across the platform. πŸ¦Έβ€β™‚οΈ
  • Suggest and implement best practices and architecture improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. πŸ’‘
  • Utilize best-in-class code automation strategies to streamline development processes. πŸ€–
  • Contribute to better cost management through efficient utilization of compute and storage resources. πŸ’°
  • Document processes and maintain software development records for transparency and knowledge sharing. πŸ“

Qualifications:

  • Multiple years of experience in a DevOps role, contributing to critical projects. πŸ†
  • Intensive knowledge of core DevOps concepts and tools, including source control, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, monitoring, alerting, and logging. 🧰
  • Extensive proficiency with Java, Python, Scala, and SQL, covering all aspects from development to production (build tools, deployment tools, deployment methods, configuration strategies, etc.). πŸ’»
  • Deep knowledge of AWS Cloud Computing, particularly in scalability and optimization. ☁️
  • Knowledge of orchestration frameworks (e.g., Airflow) and containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). πŸ“¦
  • Experience with automation technologies such as Terraform, GitLab, etc. πŸ€–
  • Experience with Big Data technologies (Hive, Spark, Trino, etc.) is a plus. πŸ“Š
