At papernest, tech, data, and business are fully connected. The team is involved in providing the whole company with a performing, fast, and relevant data platform, product, and pipeline.
In constant contact with the business and technical teams, youâll be leading the strategy and the delivery of your team. Youâll report to the Head of Data, with constant interactions with members of the comex.
đŻ Key Responsibilities:
đ Leadership and Strategy:
- Define the roadmap and key projects for your team, along with your product manager.
- Manage complex projects and relationships, with numerous stakeholders (C-levels, other engineering teams, business stakeholders, etc.).
- Craft the AI strategy of the data department.
đ ïž Ensure Technical Excellence:
- Maintain an excellent level of service (99.9% SLA) on a pipeline with more than 10 million events every day.
- Take key architecture decisions with the help of your tech leads, while ensuring global consistency through your relationships with the engineering architecture team.
- Define and refine specs of key projects.
- With the product manager, ensure your sprints are prioritized, sized, and delivered.

- Youâll lead and structure your team of 8 engineers based in Paris and Barcelona.
- Manage recruitment of new members.
- Training and career development of your team, as well as management of rituals.

Delivery & Quality:
- Monitor and challenge team delivery.
- Ensure global quality by implementing processes and code reviewing.
- Track debt creation and lead debt repayment strategy and delivery.

- Transcribe tens of thousands of calls every day.
- Call transcript enrichment platform with AI.
- Develop an open address autocompletion system.

đ About You:
đ Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in backend or software engineering using Python.
- Previous Management Experience of a mid-size team.
- Experience in designing and implementing a data engineering architecture.
- Experience in setting up self-managed infrastructure (AI architecture is a plus).
- Good communication skills, because youâll discuss a lot with many stakeholders.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English.
- Fluency in French is a plus.
