The Team
The Test Course Ops System team develops the systems to support the entire city operations. Our mission is to maximize the efficiency of city operations by making operational policies and developing Ops systems with low-cost by utilizing commercial off-the-shelf and full scratch applications. We also contribute to improving the performance and quality of service development to promote rapid cycles of DevOps with high quality by visualizing measurements.
Who We're Looking For
We are seeking an experienced Frontend Tech Lead to join our team. "Test Course Ops System" needs to support the entire Woven City Operation. You will develop multiple applications to support city operations, working closely with partners to understand requirements for better design and communicating with other engineers and partners both within the company and externally. You will apply Agile methods and best practices to maximize the velocity of your projects and meet customer needs. You will develop software that helps with multiple operations in Woven City and lead multiple software development efforts to support and stabilize Woven City Operation with the team.
You will report to the Lead of Test Course Ops System and work in a hybrid (office and remote) environment.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop multiple frontend software to support City operation and enhance Woven City value for our customers.
- Improve team's flexibility by implementing CI/CD environments, adopting the latest development tools, automation, and modern software architecture to build stable and scalable applications.
- Identify important technical issues in development activities and introduce appropriate solutions based on the latest technology trends.
- Participate in and support high-level discussions with business teams from a technical perspective.
- Work with multiple teams across the organization to integrate with other products and the common platform.
- Participate in sprints and meetings, improving our agile development processes.
- Review, mentor, and support other team members.
- Follow the standards in Woven City Management or Woven by Toyota to align organizational policy or rules related to five major risks like safety, security, and privacy to maintain our reputation and build high-quality software.
Minimum Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in frontend software development and 3+ years of experience as a technical lead.
- Experience with multiple programming languages and defect standard frameworks or libraries for web applications.
- Experience in delivering public or private cloud-based production-level software.
- Strong problem identification and solving skills.
- Proficiency in business-level Japanese and basic-level English to communicate with others via chat, email, and documents.

- Experience in the development of the following:
- Cloud-based services
- Data modeling, collection, and management
- Microservice and service-oriented architectures
- Docker and Kubernetes
- API design and OpenAPI standard
- Agile software development
- Experience with AWS or other public clouds like GCP and Azure.
- Experience in leading the development of big enterprise systems.
