Software Engineer - Bare Metal 💻

About the job

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our Bare Metal team. You will be responsible for maintaining our Dedibox solution and participating in the R&D for the new Elastic Metal solution.

Minimum qualifications

Tech skills:

• Languages: PHP/Symfony
• API: REST
• Databases: MySQL, Redis
• Notion of queuing: RabbitMQ
• Monitoring: Prometheus, Grafana

Soft skills:

• Peer reviews
• Team spirit and mutual aid
• Written and verbal communication skills
• Autonomy and rigor

Preferred qualifications

Tech skills:

• Languages: Go (a plus)
• API: gRPC
• Container orchestration: Nomad, Kubernetes
• OS: GNU/Linux Debian & Ubuntu, CentOS, ESXi, Windows Server, etc.

Soft skills:

• Very good command of English
• Knowledge of the Bare Metal and cloud ecosystems
• Teamwork on features, design, and implementation
• Agile methods

Responsibilities

• Work on a solution built in-house, from the ground up
• Review code contributed by other team members
• Find the right balance between elegance and time-to-market for our solutions
• Collaborate with colleagues from other areas
• Manage products, users, offers
• Optimize systems for performance, scalability, resiliency, and maintainability
• Automate the production of insights from data
• Give back to the community by contributing to open-source projects
• Use internal platform solutions (queuing, monitoring, etc.)

This position is based in our offices in Paris or Lille (France).
