About the Role ⚙️
Verkor seeks a SCADA Engineer to join their Process Development team at their gigafactory near Dunkirk, France. As the lead for the SCADA system controlling and monitoring the Formation process, the final step in battery manufacturing, you'll own the project from design to implementation, testing, training, and technical support. Responsibilities 🛠️
- Collaborate with external SCADA system vendors during design reviews, ensuring alignment with factory requirements and standards.
- Work with vendors to define and configure control strategies, including route planning, recipe management, and data collection, to optimize battery production efficiency.
- Oversee software development and integration, ensuring timely and efficient implementation of SCADA systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve SCADA system issues, coordinating with external vendors to minimize downtime and maintain production continuity.
- Lead validation and testing activities at the factory, working closely with factory teams.
- Provide comprehensive training to production and maintenance teams on SCADA systems usage and maintenance.
- Create and maintain detailed documentation, including system specifications, operating procedures, and change control records.
- Participate in continuous improvement of SCADA systems and stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Requirements 📚
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of experience as a SCADA engineer in an industrial setting, preferably in battery manufacturing or a similar process-intensive environment.
- Proficiency in SCADA software, including but not limited to Wonderware, Ignition, or Siemens WinCC.
- Strong knowledge of PLC programming and configuration, especially with Allen-Bradley or Siemens controllers.
- Understanding of industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, OPC, and Ethernet/IP.
- Ability to design, configure, and troubleshoot HMI (Human-Machine Interface) applications.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail for diagnosing and resolving SCADA system issues.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with external SCADA system vendors, cross-functional teams, and convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certification in SCADA-related technologies or industrial automation is a plus.
