Job Description
As a java software engineer at OneUp, you will be in a unique position to set the direction of its innovative platform with an eye towards understanding the customer’s and business’ need. As an early hire, your opinions and decisions will shape the platform and the company culture.
You are user centric, you put the user in first place at every step of your work. You will position yourself where you actually can create most value for your customers/users. You are going to make a difference and position yourself in the company as a TRUE value creator, you will focusing on the end user’s needs and wants. As the saying goes: “focus on the end user, and everything else will follow…”
You will be focused on details, since details make the difference between any product and a GREAT product.
You will work individually and collaboratively on our main GWT (Google Web Toolkit) front-end application to build out new features and help architect continuing iterations of our core product.

Responsibilities
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Develop efficient, testable, reusable and well documented GWT code
- Work with product managers to implement the next generation of OneUp features
- Identify and apply best practices for Java front-end engineering
- Lead the conceptions and code reviews sessions
- Identify, troubleshoot and fix front-end issues
And, since we are a start-up, wear the many hats that are needed to make our customers and OneUp successful.
Skills & Requirements
Required:
- Excellent knowledge of Java
- Good knowledge of web technologies (GWT, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3)
- Deep understanding of front-end, mobile / responsive design and best practices
- 3+ years of experience in Java
- Ability to write high-performance, reusable and clean code
- BS or MS degree in Computer Science
- Fluent in English
Bonus:
- Experience with GWT
- Understanding of accounting and/or sales process
- Proficiency with Git, Unix, Maven, Gradle
- Knowledge of new infrastructures in the Cloud (Amazon Web Service)
- Ability to set and manage priorities judiciously
- Excellent written and oral communication skills

- Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
