The Arene team is dedicated to democratizing vehicle programming by simplifying software development and increasing deployment frequency without compromising safety and security. This will foster a new ecosystem of vehicle application developers, integrating vehicles into our daily lives in innovative ways. Arene aims to revolutionize vehicle design and development, working closely with Toyota to achieve this in their next-generation vehicles.
The Arene Product Management team is a global entity responsible for defining the Arene Product Line roadmap. We achieve this through deep market knowledge, customer focus, and an awareness of technology trends. Our goal is to deliver the right solutions, at the right price, and at the right time, benefiting both customers and the Arene sponsor. The Product Management Director in North America collaborates closely with their counterpart in Japan.
Our team comprises product managers, product planning experts, market and user analysts, benchmarking specialists, and commercialization and partnership experts. We work hand-in-hand with global engineering teams to ensure Arene is a cohesive product line, building its reputation as a trustworthy and reliable brand by offering cost-effective solutions that meet the highest standards of safety and quality.
🎯 WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? 🎯
We seek a business leader with a profound understanding of product strategy creation and planning within a B2B marketplace, managing Fortune 50-type customers. You should have a proven track record of delivering business results through product line management, developing and servicing highly complex products that integrate extensive logical and physical elements into a cohesive whole, akin to a car or aircraft. Extensive skills in change management and automotive industry regulations are also expected.
✅ RESPONSIBILITIES ✅
- In close collaboration with the Japanese head of product management, define and maintain a unique global product strategy, roadmap, and associated communication & governance. This will support the Japanese marketplace while deeply considering the North American and European markets.
- Build and manage a diverse team of senior professionals in specializations such as product management and planning, market analysis, user experience, business strategies, and commercialization to maximize their efficiency in delivering business results.
- Pro-actively deploy strategies and leverage all possible internal and external resources to derive the proper set of features that will provide Arene with competitive advantages as a product. Enable Toyota in the world of Software-Defined Vehicles and maintain its leadership position in this new field, considering its operational realities and product line constraints.
- Develop internal and external networks to facilitate Arene's product penetration, starting with Toyota group companies, then J-OEMs, and subsequently the rest of the world.
- Track feature development execution by engineering, identify risks, and take action to drive results and meet schedule commitments.
- Leverage globally dispersed teams and stakeholders in your operations.
- Manage investment by prioritizing features and balancing them with non-functional requirements to enable the Arene product line to achieve solid financial performance in a software-driven business model, prioritizing safety and quality above profit.
- Balance competing factors such as risk mitigation and issue resolution, dependency management, fastest vs. best solution, and ROI.
- Develop and maintain a strong partnership network within the Toyota group and beyond to gather insights and needs, creating trusting relationships without over-indexing on product customization. Maintain a long-term vision and educate customers/stakeholders to bring them along.
- Provide inspirational leadership with active listening, empathy, inclusivity, and by modeling company values to maximize the performance of teams and individuals.
- Support business development and market influence activities through talks at major industry events, conventions, and representation with partners and potential customers.
⭐ MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ⭐
- Demonstrated experience delivering business results in a B2B environment similar to Arene's, with a product line that shares similar technology, cost structure, and market complexity.
- Demonstrated experience leading teams on successful technology products.
- 10+ years of pertinent experience delivering and servicing complex products that integrate humans within extensive logical and physical elements.
- Experience in communicating technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated effectiveness in connecting business context and customer impact to business results.
- Proven experience in go-to-market strategies, business plan definition, strategic plan definition, partnerships, complex commercial agreements, patents, and M&A.
- Prior experience working directly with engineering teams.
- Experience working with automotive OEMs and/or tier-1 suppliers.
- Experience working in the automotive, aerospace, or defense industries.
- Embrace the challenge of creating metrics, designing product roadmaps, and influencing a diverse set of stakeholders toward a common goal.
