About the Role 💼
As an experienced people manager, team leader, and hands-on software engineer, you're passionate about simple solutions to complex problems. You thrive on empowering individuals to achieve their full potential and have a proven track record of designing and building complex, mission-critical products and systems.
Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer, you'll work closely with them and the Head of Product to transform our flat organizational structure into multiple mission-defined teams. You'll oversee all software delivery and engineering goal-setting, fostering a culture of product engineering, innovation, and pragmatism within the Engineering department.

Lead and manage engineering teams, establishing a successful team management structure.

Contribute to the growth of Bigblue's strong Product Engineering culture by actively participating as a proficient, relevant, and creative product contributor.

Ensure day-to-day execution aligns with priorities while maintaining exceptionally high engineering standards.

Collaborate with the CTO and Head of Product to drive process changes that enhance efficiency, collaboration, and ownership across teams.

Partner with the CTO and senior engineers to conduct architecture and engineering plan reviews.

Drive the engineering roadmap to maintain an excellent developer experience through continuous investment in tooling and bottleneck removal.

Source, screen, interview, and hire talented Engineering Managers and Engineers.

Cultivate a happy, motivated, and energized team, nurturing both high and low performers into impactful contributors.
Requirements 📝

Proven experience leading a growing team of engineers through various process and organizational evolutions, with a strong bias for action.

Demonstrated technical depth and expertise in full-stack, distributed systems, allowing you to engage deeply with engineers, ask critical questions, and develop a precise understanding of Bigblue's stack.

Exceptional people management skills, with the ability to influence and engage direct and indirect reports, as well as peers.

Outstanding written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills, enabling effective communication with executive-level management, the board of directors, and staff. Professional English and conversational French are required.
